Chainalysis proudly hosted our inaugural Customer Awards program at Links 2025 NYC, recognizing exceptional innovation, impact, and collaboration across our global customer base. Building upon the success of the first Public Sector Awards introduced at Trace DC in July of last year, this new program recognizes achievements among Chainalysis customers that are leveraging blockchain analytics in extraordinary ways across industries worldwide.
Nominations came from across Chainalysis and were thoughtfully evaluated by an internal judging panel. Ultimately, three exceptional organizations were honored, recognized for innovation, measurable impact, and successful public-private collaboration.
Chief Revenue Officer Bas Lemmens shared, “It was incredibly difficult to choose winners — these organizations represent the best of what this ecosystem has to offer.”
Innovation Award: BNY
The Innovation Award honors organizations that have demonstrated outstanding creativity and forward-thinking use of Chainalysis solutions to drive innovation within their organizations. Whether through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, the implementation of novel strategies, or the development of groundbreaking initiatives, the Innovation Award celebrates those who are pushing the boundaries and reshaping the landscape of compliance and investigations.
BNY took home this honor. A pioneer and valued Chainalysis customer for several years, they were one of the first large financial institutions to publicly enter into digital asset custody for crypto. BNY developed an integrated framework using the full suite of Chainalysis solutions — including our software, training, and data.
Amy Slivka, member of the Digital Assets business, accepted this award on behalf of BNY.
“We are proud to play a role in supporting market developments on behalf of our clients, including offering digital asset custody for select crypto assets for U.S. based institutional clients, and are committed to building on our 240-year legacy of trust and innovation as we bridge the blockchain and traditional finance ecosystems.” —Marissa MacDonald, Head of Digital Assets Risk, Resiliency & Controls at BNY
Beyond their internal innovation, BNY has played a key role in shaping how Chainalysis supports the broader banking sector. Their leadership has not only influenced the direction of our solutions, but has also paved the way for other institutions to confidently navigate the world of digital assets. We’re proud to recognize BNY as a trailblazer and we’re excited to see what they’ll do next.
Impact Award: Coinbase Global Intelligence Team
The Impact Award honors customers who have achieved measurable, transformative outcomes through their use of Chainalysis data and expertise. These organizations not only elevate their own operations but also contribute to broader industry and public safety goals.
This year’s winner, the Coinbase Global Intelligence Team, was recognized for its efforts to combat the misuse of crypto in fentanyl-related activity. By partnering with Chainalysis and leveraging Signals data, Coinbase was able to validate crucial leads, identify high-risk entities, and share actionable intelligence with law enforcement. The intelligence shared between both teams has expanded understanding of this growing threat, resulting in targeted disruption of criminal actors.
Lauren O’Brien Kelly and Jacob Baker accepted this award on behalf of the Coinbase Global Intelligence Team.
“Fentanyl continues to plague our country and the world, so we were happy to do our part in expanding awareness and disrupting these networks. Special thanks to Joe, Sarah, Caleb, and Collin on the Chainalysis team for enriching our data and making this initiative a great success.” —Lauren O’Brien Kelly, Senior Investigator, Global Intelligence at Coinbase
Coinbase’s continued dedication to building a safer cryptocurrency ecosystem sets a strong example for the industry. Their preventative, data-driven approach reflects the power of combining technology with mission-driven partnerships for the greater good of all.
Public-Private Partnership Award: NPCC National Cybercrime Team
Collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential to addressing today’s most complex challenges — the Public-Private Partnership Award celebrates exactly that. This award recognizes outstanding cross-sector efforts that drive innovation, enhance enforcement capabilities, and deliver meaningful outcomes for broader communities.
This year’s recipient, the UK’s NPCC National Cybercrime Team, has been a valued Chainalysis partner for many years. By leveraging Reactor, training programs, and investigative support, NPCC National Cybercrime Team has played a key role in combating illicit cryptocurrency activity across the UK. Recently, this relationship has evolved into a formal joint intelligence partnership, with Chainalysis investigators and data scientists working hand-in-hand with the NPCC National Cybercrime Team to proactively develop intelligence targeting asset seizure opportunities.
Andrew Gould accepted the award on behalf of the NPCC National Cybercrime Team.
“When we made our first crypto-related seizure over 10 years ago, we manually investigated the blockchain and wondered: ‘Where on earth are we going to store this?’ Now, Chainalysis tools are in the hands of officers across every cybercrime unit in the UK. The future for us is stepping deeper into operational partnerships, using blockchain not just to track, but alongside police tools to proactively locate and disrupt criminals globally. We’re incredibly excited and grateful for this recognition.” —Andrew Gould, Programme Lead, NPCC National Cybercrime Team.
A cornerstone of this collaboration is two-way data sharing — expanding enforcement capabilities and enabling faster, more effective disruption of criminal activity. The NPCC National Cybercrime Team has fully embraced the value of blockchain data as a core intelligence asset, and the results have been immediate and impactful.
