This collaboration augments i2’s link analysis platform, Analyst’s Notebook with Chainalysis insights into cryptocurrency transactions to provide a comprehensive solution for identifying, predicting, and countering criminal, terrorist, and fraudulent activities. The solution, now available for i2 Group and Chainalysis customers in the public sector, seamlessly incorporates blockchain data into their investigations, enhancing their ability to uncover complex networks and illicit activities.
Addressing the cryptocurrency blind spot
Prior to this partnership, i2 Group’s Analyst’s Notebook users primarily utilized off-chain data sets from third-party sources, such as geospatial data. But the growing ubiquity of cryptocurrency has made it a tool for all forms of crime, ranging from matters of national security to fraud and scams and other challenges related to consumer protection and organized crime.
The integration of Chainalysis data through a formal connector within i2 Group now allows analysts to combine various datasets with on-chain cryptocurrency data for enhanced insights into illicit activities. This addresses a critical blind spot for those interested in following illicit financial flows.

After purchasing Chainalysis’s Investigations API, Chainalysis customers can drop their API key directly into i2 Analyst’s Notebook to seamlessly integrate Chainalysis data into i2’s platform. This ensures that users can securely and efficiently access the combined data sets.
